Now you can do both–Indiebound now has an e-reader that works for Android, ioS, and Nook!

Detailed instructions for exactly how to do are below.

 BUY YOUR  E-BOOK:

  1. If you don’t already have a google account (for gmail or other applications), set one up now.
  2. Install the IndieBound Reader App for Android or iOS on your device.  You can find it at http://www.indiebound.org/reader, or on Android Market or I-tunes

 

  1. Go to your favorite indie website – great local stores include:

 

  1. Find the title you are looking for (the e-book will be listed on the main product page of the title in question) and “add to cart”

 

  1. Sign in to your google account at the prompt
  2. Check out

READ YOUR E-BOOK! 

For Android Users:

  1. Open your Google Books app on your Android device.  (The first time you open Google Books, you will need to enter your Google account name and password.).
  2. Tap your book to download and begin reading.

For iOS Users

1. Open your Google Books app on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch. (The first time you open Google Books, you will need to enter your Google account name and password.)
3. Tap your book to download and begin reading!

For Nook users

1. Open Adobe Digital Editions. (The first time you open ADE, it will request that you authorize your computer. Click Yes.   Plug your Nook/eReader into the computer. Adobe Digital Editions will ask to authorize the device. Click Yes.)
2. Open your eBook file in ADE. Drag the icon of the file on top of the icon of your Nook/eReader and drop. This will transfer the file.
3. Begin reading on your Nook
